Please Be Aware when re-homing Serbian dogs

The intention of this post is to inform those considering re-homing a dog from Serbia. The people and organisations named are or have been complicit in bringing in illegal dogs. One UK rescue might argue they had no idea but if your business or charity is run with the sole purpose of dog rescue, it is your duty to understand and abide by the regulations of both the country of origin and the UK. Serbian law, to the best of my knowledge: dogs can only be exported on a commercial or non-commercial export certificate.  Commercial certificates are only given for dogs from government authorised facilities, I have yet to find an individual or organisation bringing dogs out on a commercial certificate. They must be chipped, have a pssport, FAVN, health certificate and CVED  ( Common Veterinary Entry Document) the health certificate and CVEd must accompany the dog to the UK. " Registered establishments  - dogs, cats and ferrets must come from holdings or businesses which are regi

Clarification of titer results

Image
If this sounds curt, it's because it is. I have been fighting for a month, fighting against so many to ensure this doesn't get swept under the rug as other horror stories have and trust me, I am not just talking about everybody's precious little "Dejan" this is much bigger than that pathetic excuse of a man who preyed on the emotions of people here to extract money from thier wallets and purses, who dumped dogs he couldn't sell, who paid pound workers to hold back certain dogs and not vaccinate or chip them with a Serb chip as he then couldn't get them out the country. I have not spoken to one person who has a good thing to say about this man. I have spoken with vets, other rescuers, transporters, friends in Serbia, Americans, Romanians and Germans and nobody has once said to me Dejan Savic is a good man or that he cares about the dogs! Quarantine wanted me to wait until the certificate is sent next week but so many are still doubting, even DNH admin d

My Friend Visited Me Again :-)

Image
One perk of being in here is that I suddenly have lots of friends, literally hundreds and one special friend visited me last week and decided I was such a handsome and special boy, she couldn't resist and visited again yesterday. I must have made a huge impression on her as she brought me toys and chicken and doggie sausages. I have asked mummy to put up a photo of her message and all the goodies she brought me. I'll ask mummy to find out if I can tell you her name as she deserves a huge thank you xxx

Wags N Wet Noses

Last night I posted information on a UK operation ran by a woman Wendy Feather. She was brought to my attention by another Facebook member and kept coming up in my chats with those involved in Serbian rescue. Wags N Wet Noses previously ran an operation involving Irish rescue dogs, they now specialise in "Balkan" dogs though these are Serbian dogs and not Hungarian or Bosnian as claimed. Like Barnaby, her dogs come through the illegal route with Romanian or Hungarian passports and are suspected of not being vaccinated or wormed. I have numerous statements on Wendy's operation including who she works with, worked with in the past and these have been passed to the authorities. RSPCA have said she will be investigated. One dog came in on a Romanian passport, no titer and had worms. Another on a Hungarian passport having been told the dog spent 4 months in Hungary for "health checks" again, no titer and regardless of whether Wendy's 4 month doggie spa st

Sad, sad day :-(

Today is a sad day for my mummy. My titer results came back and as in the words of Mrs Boss Lady, I have never seen a rabies vaccination in my life :-( My results were zilch, nada, nothing. That means I have to do my full term in jail but it also means APHA have to take action against Dejan Savic, Marinela Tudor and the vet who signed I had been vaccinated, Dr Dinca Florin Stelian from Arad.

Sunny day visit and some food for thought!

Image
It was so sunny today when my mummies visited, that's why I'm squinting! We had great fun outside  though I spent most of the time eating, I really am quite greedy but I'm making the most of being spoilt right now.  Mummy told me I looked more settled than on her last visits so that's good as I try not to worry her and made a real effort to fit in with all the other dogs. When a couple of new comers arrived, we all barked in unison to let them know their place, I had never joined in like that before so mum guessed that meant I'm finding my feet. I spoke last time about the titer results, they still aren't hear but mummy talked with the vet and he said any day now. An authority is also interested in these results but my mummy is a bit skeptical and said that even if I am positive, that doesn't excuse me being illegal and if they think the matter will be left at that, they best think again. The vet also spoke with her about my possible heartworm and

Latest quarantine visit and what's a snuffle mat?

Image
Hi all, today I had a visit from a man and lady that I had never met before.  Apparently, they contacted my mummy and asked if they could help by visiting me. Thankfully mummy said yes, she knows it can get a bit boring just lying about in the sun all day and so today was the first of their visits and my mummy better make sure they come again! They brought me some of my favourite food, cooked chicken and they played with me and cuddled me and we had great fun. The lady also offered to make me a snuffle mat but mummy needs to ask what that is as she has never heard of it but if it involves treats, I will make sure she says yes! I've asked mummy to put a photo of her last visit on here as I think it's cute, I'm snuggling up with mummy's jumper and thinking of when I can go back home again.

Quarantine Order

Image
Sadly, some still claim Dejan Savic is a wonderful person rescuing homeless dogs or more absurdly, question if Barnaby is really in quarantine. So I have uploaded his quarantine order. Please note the "has provided evidence the passport is false - incorrectly issued". I provided proof that my dog originated in Serbia but Dejan Savic sent him, as he and others do, with a Romanian passport - this is illegal and creates a potential health risk, Does the end justify the means? In this instance, I do not think so and the most frustrating aspect is that dogs can be re-homed from Serbia legally, it's just not as profitable to the dog smugglers.

Echinococcus & Falsified passports

Image
Any owner of a Serbian dog who did not arrive with a Serbian passport and/or FAVN test results and health certificate, PLEASE read this. Also, if your dog is from any European and you suspect it has a falsified passport (look for handwritten vaccine batch numbers, unregistered microchip, clear plastic stickers in passport, mistakes with dates, description of your dog) please read and consider if you want to discuss your concerns with your vet or trading standards. I have been asked for clarification on the microchips. When a dog is microchipped, the vet should enter the details into the countries database, this connects the vet who microchipped the animal, the passport number and the chip number. As many dogs from abroad are being brought in with false details in their passport, no vet wants to be connected to that (they can explain away their signature or stamp as being forged but not how it was entered in the system under their name) as they risk losing their license.
