Illegal Transporters Part 1 Bota Bogdan - Laurentia Ellas Paws

This post involves the transport side of the illegal dog smuggling. Many were/are involved and so I ask you bear with me as it will be a work in progress and I might post separate blogs for each transporter. As you read through, you might also recognise other names of UK rescues who have not been previously mentioned, they will be in a later update post.

Further, you will note many Bosnian rescuers, the Bosnian aspect came late in the day to me as I couldn't see the point, nor from Bulgaria - both are in the EU so why not just take them out legally. Again, it comes down to the turnaround time and profit. To legitimately move from either country, the dog would need rabies vaccination, wormed and wait 21 days from the vaccination date. The documentation is also more involved and there are fees to pay. All time consuming, expensive and so it's easier and cheaper to just pop across the border using the pet passport scheme, in batches of 5 into Hungary or to Serbia and travel with the Serbian and Romanian dogs. You will also note discussions about dates being wrong in Bosnian passports and other errors. As with the Serbian dogs, passports to get them out the country are usually no more legitimate than their Romanian passports!

This post will also be extremely emotive for some as it involves a driver  who recently had an accident. I wouldn't wish what happened to him on anybody and whilst I sympathise with him and his family, he has been illegally transporting dogs for a number of years and looking at the members added to his new transport venture, it suggests he intends on continuing to import illegal dogs and there can be no excuse for this.

The transport is an integral part of the whole network. Vans typically bring between 30-50 dogs at a time and the journey is typically 28-30 hours though some have told me of the total travel time for some dogs being as long as 72 hours. Many people have contacted me with horrific stories of the conditions the dogs travel in, arrive in and the impact of this but I will go into more detail in another post discussing the animal welfare issues. Suffice to say, some transporters were regarded as very bad and others were supposedly much better.

Please do not email me if a transporter is not listed here claiming that they are/were involved. If they are not listed then it means I have no conclusive proof against them, rumours and heresay are not proof and unless I am certain I can defend any libel case brought against me, I will not post it.

This conversation is one of many and includes Bota discussing the illegal collection of Serbian at a petrol station in Hungary on the 16th of August 2017. This and further evidence has been passed to APHA
